Blepharitis in winter

Hi
Just wondered if blepharitis sufferers on here had problems with flare ups during the winter months?
In the UK we've just had a bit of a temperature drop and my eyes seem to be getting bad. I find if I put my central heating on it makes them really bad and if I don't put it on it seems to be no different but the cold doesn't help it either!
Just started on a course of antibiotics today that I'm on for 3 months now. Not had a problem for nearly a year and now it's back.

I have just had a flare up and also had a flare up while on holiday last year where it was quite warm...so for me it just flares up at anytime.....I did just visit the eye specialist and he put 2 lots of different drops in both eyes (like they do)....and think that set it off...it was bad but not as bad as it has been but I am in my 5th week on doxycycline so maybe that has helped a little but they were still very painful and sore...it is a horrible miserable condition. ......and I feel for anyone who suffers with this
I am also in the UK

Mine seems to be ok in the warm weather it's just during the cold snaps it gets bad.
Can I ask about you're antibiotics? I'm on oxytetracycline for 3 months and I've had it in the past and it works really well. How long are you on doxycycline for? I know after a while antibiotics stop working but they're the only thing that work for me. Have you been on it a few times?

This is the 2nd time I have been on these antibiotics (Doxycycline) and the first time they were great this time ,...I did have a flare up and I am only on these for 6 weeks same as the 1st time. I will need to remember the name of the antibiotics you are taking and ask my GP for those next time...My GP has been very good but cant say the same for the eye specialist, they dont seem interested at all...said I am on the maximum treatment so discharged me....!! Not bothered at all...the treatment I use I have sourced myself from this site and others then passed this info onto my GP so now I get Gel, Drops and Blephaclean wipes on prescription as I pay monthly for my prescriptions as I do take a few meds, I am hoping to get the Blephasol Lotion on prescription next time I go to the surgery...Why is everything so damned expensive to relive this horrible aliment !!!...the lotion is £10.99 !!....

the cold weather has made the rosecea on my face worse, with a patch on one cheek I can't get rid of
i find central heating very drying too. Luckily I've got a wood burner and find that gives out great heat without being too drying.
Hope the anti biotics help you.
