Blepharitis ? what?

I did not know the slightest about this until I googled itchy eyes and by chance fell into this discussion. I have probably had this a long time but never recogonized it.  I am day one into the "Wet Ones" and hope to find some relief soon. I am from Canada and had some anxiety about using them given the note on the reverse to keep them away from eyes but I too am desparate and will try the warm water wash, followed by the Wet Ones application .  I am tossing the make up and in for a new batch with disposable wands and brushes. Keep you posed on my progress.  I use natural tears for lubricant but truthfully it doesn't help much.  Has anyone a suggestion for a moisurizer now around the eyes since they feel so DRY?

Like you, I now realise I had blepharitis for a long time before it was diagnosed.

I only tried the wet ones for a few days. Had a horrible reaction to them and ended up having an emergency appointment at the hospital.

Any  bland moisturiser will help the skin around your eyes but you must keep all dreams away from lids and eye margins or it will block the glands.

you will probably find you'll have to keep away from make up while you have a flare up.

things I've found helped are: warm compresses--- cotton pads or flannel in warm to hot water, held over closed eyes for about 10 minutes. Even better are the gel packs you warm up in the microwave ( put in a jug of water in microwave for more even heat) 10-15 second bursts of power or pack will burst.

Blehpasol liquid on cotton wool pads to clean eye margins. I also use L'Oreal miscella gel in the same way.

Hyloforte eye drops from the doctor.

I'm now taking one antibiotic a day for the rosecea on my skin. It's really helped the blepharitis and I wish the doctor had prescribed this a year ago.

If the Wet Ones cause you any problems, I suggest that you make a switch to Merida Cleansing Wipes for face & eyes. They seem to be available only in Canada at Dolorama. They contain the same important ingredient as the Wet Ones, but they are milder and not so drying. They only cost $1.25 for a pack of 25 that you can cut up into small pieces.

If I use them 4 times a day, I require nothing else. However, using creams on your eyes will make your eyes worst..... There is no way around it.

If you buy the Merida cleansing wipes, you will find glass containers the right size in the same store.... you don't want them drying up.

    Good luck smile
