Blind walking really helps

Since going to Memphis very few drop or spinning attacks, still have days of loud ringing and fulness. Better with beta histamine got mine pharmacy in Bristol, Tennessee compound they make caps. Diet has helped a lot to stayING off diet cola's and salt big. Third thing really helped I do the blind walking 3-4 times a week. I driveway, neighborhood, stairs, rotating eyes or looking 3 locations and up and down head movements. Something about brain retraining itself. Walking with your eyes closed gets easier all the time. U can start someone beside you. I have not had bad drop attack in long time. Today believe it or not did 2 miles walking most of the way eyes closed of course quiet neighborhood. Anyway I am firm believer in this blind walking stuff.I could not stand the spinning and drop.attacks. Hope this helps someone because we are all in this togethet. I asked drug rep other day why menniers does not get more support???

Daniel. I saw Dr . Shea himself , the clinic specializes in menniers. I am on betahistamine, Hcl water pill, klopin panic pill sleep at night, salt under 2000, suppose 10 glasses water, and exercises, watch stress, blind walking 3-4 times day. Newest hearing aids fit in ear adjust volume when need and talk on phone. This disease is the 3 worst you can have. And people have No idea what you go through, they say oh I have ringing too. This disease is life changing and was for me . From teaching., socializing. And physical activities. A lot of people go through depression with this which I am recovering from. My mom finally had to go to bed with the disease it was so bad. First diagnosis that's all I could see for rest of life. But learning to fight through it all. Good Luck hope you at

I see Dr shea now I was seeing Dr emitt he did the ear purfuson on me in 98 and I didn't have any problems till about 3 years ago so he did the purfuson again but didn't seem to work this time symptoms are better most days but still have issues daily. I see Dr shea now he gave me steroids but couldn't take the big dose cause of side effects and can't take the fluid pills cause my blood pressure runs on the lower side scared it might drop to low I pretty much just stay at home and don't go very far and that's hard having kids. Was doing therapy that really helped but of course insurance change stopped me from going so it got back to where I was before hand. My ear stays full most days and popping and I can hear my voice in my ear when I talk not real bad dizziness but the fullness of my head and just feel like crap most days and not able to do much is driving me crazy and anxiety is crazy if I try to go somewhere or stay alone at home. I was just wondering if what you taking would work for me. And you right this is one of the worst things in the world to have it makes you helpless. Don't know if I should try a low dose steroid if that would help I just don't know what to do to get back to normal!

Daniel please try some of the things I am doing , getting part of my life back . I have researched the heck of this. Also recommend some type exercise even if like me may not feel like it, walking , yoga, or stationary bike. Blind walking is a biggie sometime about the brain. Beta histamine also been ga me changer , put address on forum. We are all in this together, it seems this disease does not qualify as a biggee to drug companies as rep told me. U have nothing to lose ........

I feel like sometimes I walk better with eyes closed too! Or with my glasses off, especially.

Could you tell me more about looking at 3 locations and up and down head movements? I have never heard of this nor blind walking but I will try it. I have severe attacks (12 to 18 hours of dizziness, vomiting etc) every month. Coincindentally, I live in TN as well - Knoxville.

Kathleen you close your eyes and walk small distances then longer distance with partner if needed. Go up and down stairs eyes closed, practice getting up and down in chair, tossing object from hand to hand , then sitting raise head up and down, sitting pick 3 objects small distance apart let eyes move from one to another. I have not fallen in 3 months.
