Hello ladies. I have been experiencing the worst bloat and constipation. My stomach is tight, heavy and full. I look pregnant. I never experienced anything like this. I feel so uncomfortable. Last night i felt like it gave me anxiety. Can your gut/stomach give you anxiety ? I tried eating everything, bran, prune juice and laxitive, still nothing. Also i have pain in my uterus and ovaries. Is this all normal. please help

My BIG menopause symptom has been the issues with my digestive system. I have been battling with issues for the last three years. I have suffered everything from GERD, bloating, constipation, stomach pains and now two months of painful hemorrhoids. My doctor has diagnosed IBS which can be brought on by the menopause if you haven't suffered before. I have also had lower stomach discomfort too... And all of this has turned me into an anxiety riddled menopausal woman... I would suggest looking at your diet and gently increasing your fibre if it is lacking. Up your water intake too. But do go to your GP and discuss all of this. I have gone on HRT which has eased symptoms (as had the night sweats, joint pains etc etc) but it is not a cure. I can honestly say my menopause has been nothing but miserable so far but thank goodness we can support each other through this forum! 😃

Thank you saba for your reply. This is my first time dealing with such terrible digestive issues. I also have been dealing with gerd, upper and lower back pain, stiffness. Never in my wildest dreams would i have thought that this would be my life. I changed my diet hoping it would of gave me some relief but nothing. I have a dr's appointment next week and will discuss this but so thankful for you ladies. Hoping that you feel well soon. take care

    Hi Hopefore,

    I completely understand your discomfort.

Have you ever tried Miralax, it always provides me with some relief. It's over the counter. You may mention it to your Internist

and get their thoughts. They say the brain & bowel are closely related. In other words, if your stomach is bothering you it will cause anxiety and if you are having anxiety it will cause stomach issues. Feel better soon.

    Here for you. XO

I went and bought some dulcolax the other day the liquid kind and took a half of the small cup they give you which was like 15mg it worked for me instantly cause that's how meds are with me. but I have been feeling kinda of constipated today to and yes I have been eating fiber greens and etc. I've been dieting to. which I had to cause I had gained alot of weight. its helping a lot with my issues and drinking a lot of water. but I do still have systoms everyday like the burning feeling after I pee and etc but eases when I drink water and take a half of bc but cant take that all the time cause my stomach will burn ugh. I'm sorry you are going thru this try the dulcolax liquid I hope it works for you. also mention this to your Gynecologist it might could maybe give you a supposortory. another thought might be an anemia. though I hope it gets all clear for you soon and you feel better.

      Hi Hopeforever,

There's a difference between Dulcolax & Miralax. Miralax can provide a steady relief of constipation, whereas Dulcolax can be a crampy, one time relief of constipation. If you discuss with your Physician they may suggest you continue to take it beyond the 3 days it instructs on the box. It's the attempt to develop a pattern of regular bowel movements.

If you decide to try it please let me know how it goes. Hope you feel better soon.

      Here for you, XO
