Bloating and Gas

Hi All, I was dignoised with a gallstone a couple of weeks ago, I don’t really get the sharp rip pain too much, it’s the major bloating and gas that is bothering me, I am keeping a food diary to see if I can track what triggers it the most but I was wondering if any of you take probiotics to help with the bloating and gas? Or what has helped you? Thanks for any info

Hi I too had really bad bloating after just one attack and then it just subsides after a few days.  Really just keep to a low fat diet - I know it can be bland but it's worth it to try and get rid of the bloating. Try not to have salad - I didn't realise but lettuce bloats you. Also try peppermint tea. I did go to,the doctor about it and he gave me Buscopan which  people take for IBS and cramping so I have it just in case. Have a look also at my discussion as other people have given tips about what to eat as well. Hope this helps 😀

Thanks for the reply, I will try peppermint tea, I tried buscopan but it didn’t help unfortunately, starting on probiotics, all the otc gas pills haven’t helped at all, I am being really strict with my diet, I’m hopeful it will get better

Just a update just in case it helps anyone else, I started taking probiotics once a day and this has cut down on my bloated and gas and abdominal cramps a lot! I’m taking a apple cider vinegar capsule 1-2 times daily as well and keeping to a strict low fat diet, food journal helps a lot, so strange what foods I thought would be ok but bother me, like oranges and apples, others were more obvious like red meat for sure and black beans definitely make me feel ill. This whole experience has been a eye opener and maybe even a blessing in disguise in a way since I am forced to be healthier, it just scares me that it seems inevitable that I will just feel worse and worse until I have to get the surgery?! If anyone reads this do you know of anyone that has lived a semi normal life with gallstones for years?
