Bloating and tight scar post hysterectomy

Hi, I am 8 months post sub total hysterectomy. My recovery has gone really well and 6 months after my op I really felt back to normal. The evening bloating had stopped and I had stopped even thinking about my stomach throughout the day. I was also back to my usual yoga practice of 4 times a week. 6 or 7 weeks ago, I slipped down a few stairs and bruised my coccyx. My stomach felt absolutely fine, no discomfort at all. I carried on with my usual routine. 3 weeks ago, whilst doing my yoga, my scar began to really sting and felt uncomfortable. I haven't done any yoga since but instead tried to rest for it to recover. I was still doing everything else usual including walking my Springer 4 miles or so a day. However, since that last yoga session, my stomach bloats in the evening as it used to and sometimes is swollen during the day which did not happen much before. It has gotten a little better, its no longer stinging and the swelling has gone down a little, but no way back to normal as I was. I am again conscious of my stomach most of the time and feel I need to support it. I spoke to one of the nurses on the gynaecology ward but they told me to contact my GP which I will do but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this or has any advise?

thank you.

Hi Maddie, Yes, keep trying to see your GP but, you could have tweaked the scar, with surgery you get internal scarring &/or adhesions sometimes that stick to stuff or are like fibrous bands and when you fell, you most likely flexed/stretched/pulled your scar etc... in your belly area...you may have to rest that area for a few weeks & its swelling/bloating due to a minor injury....so it may be as simple as that...but, have it checked for sure in case its a bit worse than you thought needing more time...if you keep working even a minor injury it can make healing time longer, so don't worry too much...see what the Dr says!!
