Blood and proteins level are high in urinet

I have my general kidney examination and i came to know that blood and proteins levels are quite high in urine. GFR and creatinin levels are ok. I am really worried what should I do? My doctor is struggling to understand why is it so. He gave me next appointment after 1 month and I think it is quite far away. What should I do now??

hello umarali, i had blood in my urine, did cytology test, then had cystocopy done, sent to lab, came back clear, have you had a cystocopy, is this your GP that is checking you, should be referred to urologist

I have been to nephrologist. He gave me next appointment on 16th of Jan. I was bit worried that why it is happening. Since I am also goinv through anxiety disorder thats why I am feeling not so good. My doctor said that with this blood and urine examination they are unable to figure out the problem.

Are you sure you have posted in the right forum? This is a forum for polymyalgia rheumatica and Giant cell arteritis - forms of vasculitis, with no kidney involvement.

If that is your GP you are seeing, he should be considering a referral to a renal specialist - a month to your next appointment isn't too bad though. My husband has protein in his urine and his renal appointment in at the end of January. But it would be usual to request a examination of your bladder with a camera to rule out certain things there although there are other causes.

Don't apologise - just that you may get more responses from people with similar problems.  All the best!

oh no problem umarali, i,m sure there are lots of patients on this forum that have had some issues with bladder, actually i know there are, so did your gp actually refer you to urologist as well,?

I think your renal specialist probably does know what they are doing! Four weeks between appointments with a specialist isn't bad - I don't know what country you are in, but every country I know of has holidays at this time of year and that inevitably impacts on waiting times for anything that isn't an emergency.

Yes he gave me transfer slip in germany called überweisung to consult the urologist. In the mean while my nephrologist has asked me that they may hospitalise me for 2 to 3 days. But my main fear is that is it something wrong with the kidneys?? What could be the possible issues???

There may be - that's what the nephrologist will establish. My husband has a similar problem - he has to wait until mid January.

And PS - we can't second guess, there are loads of things it might be. That's why you are seeing a nephrologist and why they think you may have to be in hospital for a few days for tests to find out what it is.
