Blood clots following hemrhoidectomy - anyone else?

Its been 9 days since my hemrhoidectomy. my recovery has been rather mild compared to what I have been reading here. I have kept up with regular bowel movements to ward off pain and managed to keep it together with Keterolac and sitz baths. But then I started pooping blood clots. Big flat bloods.clots and some smaller firm round chunks that don't lose their shape.
The recovery symptoms seem to vary so much that it's hard to know what is normal and what should be concerning. I have written my doctor, but wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Need some reassurance.

Its normal unless you passing like a lot.It took me about 4 days to stop passing blood clots completely since I was in ER and have normal bowel movements, like the one I had before surgery, wich at least 2 times a day. Good luck and hope you get better soon, dont freak out much, because I know its another level of scary like you passing out youre insides lol

That's exactly how I would have described it...my insides were coming out. I was scared enough to start drafting a death email to my partner while waiting in the ER by myself. The clots were huge, sometimes a single one covering the bottom of my sitz bath. I was going in a sitz bath and measuring output of 3-4 ounces of just blood and clots. after about three of these, I went to the ER where I had another two episodes. some of it must have been old shedding mixed with new blood because my red blood cell counts came back in the low, but still normal range. They ended up calling my surgeon in the middle of the night and she had them send me home. bless her heart, she followed up with me the next day, totally supportive of and reassured me the bleeding was normal and due to the use of NSAIDS. What's crazy is that I didn't even finish my prescription. I had spaced out my doses and alternated with tylenol after the first few days, so had only taken 29 pills over 10 days.

Omg same thing,it was so scary but I'm glad we both pull thru this and everything normalise eventually.I only took 4 pills of those that been prescribed in first 2 days after anesthesia wear off and have full bootle still, than I switched to tylenol ..same thing my surgeon told me,due to late bowel movement which took me 5 days to have after surgery.
I hope this will help someone else not too freak out much, because I have not see anything in terms complications after surgery anywhere I could google it that its possible to pass so much old blood, its nothing to compare with bleeding of hems on regular.
