Blood in stool

Hey guys, I'm so so so worried. Today i went to the toilet and there were bits of hard red bits in my stool.. I automatically freaked out thinking it was blood, it didn't run like blood it was just hard. I'm so convinced that I have stomach cancer (I know I'm only young but these things do happen, on rare occasions) I'm just so convinced I'm dying as I've got acid reflux and maybe blood in stool. I also ate chilli and it had lots of tomatoes in (not sure it that's why I had bits of red in). I'm just so lost and confused and don't know where to turn.

Hi there Jackie. I experienced this about a month ago. I went insane over the thought of it being something serious. A couple of 'poos' later and they were back to normal. I doubt the 'red bits' are actually blood probably more to do with what you have been eating. Try not to worry and keep an eye on the next couple of times you go and I am sure they will be better. Much love.

It was very likely something you ate. I have seen this before. I also had an anal fissure/tear after having my son. It left blood streaks on my stools. My Dr said he would not be concerned unless the stools are black/tarry, pure white or the toilet filled with blood. I am by no means an expert and always discuss with your Dr... But just for some peace of mind.

If it was blood in your stool it would be coloured black so it's probably a red pepper or tomato skin. Don't worry

Hi normally the blood would be dark red or black if it is something wrong in the digestive system and if it is something happening in the rectum and anus it's normally fresh blood, and mostly seen on toilet paper when you wipe. It's probably the chilli, if it keeps happening though it's best to check with your doctor.

Red isnt usually a dangerous issue. It can be a food you ate, it can be fissures. A quick trip to the gastro doctor he will know. Be ause you said "bits" think very hard of what you have eaten over the last week.
