Blood on stool but no pain?

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right section. Sorry if it isnt.

I have noticed I have been seeing blood on my stools and when I wipe after sitting on the toilet. This has has been happening ever since I went on a healthy diet to lsoe 25lb. I am now 170lb . I wasn't that fat nor did I have any health issues before, just wanted to tone my body and be healty. Now, my diet is over, and I am focusing on building size/muscle. I changed my diet significantly by consuming at least 2000 calories, 150G of protein.

Still, I am seeing blood on my stools and when I wipe.

The weird thing is, I am not even in pain througout the day or when my bowels move. Now remember this doesn't happen EVERYTIME. Only sometimes, but I am worried,

I am 18 years old. this has been going on for over a month now, but remember the blood isn't really consistent.

Thank you!

    First...see a GP...for prudence....

If the blood is fresh...usually not a big deal...

It's possible you ruptured a rectal vein during a workout....adjust your diet for a week to easy digestives...preferably fish for protein (not shell)..lotta greens..you want soft bm's "like a rope"...if a busted vessel..will heal fast.

A GP is needed to rule out or rull in my "guess"...if your uninsured...may cost you $100 or so...well well woth the $$

your consuming 150gm of protein? not a good idea. 2000 cal's ok...at 170lbs and at age 18 you should be ok with a good balanced diet...and 30 gm of proten.

In addition to your normal diet...for muscle...start with a good organic whey protein powder..unflavored...don't exceed the suggested serving the first week....you can gradually increase weekly not any faster...you need to allow your body to adjust to excess "anything"...

Once you've seen a GP...get back in touch...I have two nephews who are super body builders...started at age 15...they are now 21 and 27...healthy as young bulls...they do not demonstrate like an Arnold Swartzeneger..just great shape...Claudio

      Hey Don,

Thanks for the feedback. I actually use bodybuilding a lot :D Such a great site. I take whey protein right when i wake up, followed by a banana. Then a pre workout, followed by whey protein again for post workout. Then I'll just have eggs, chicken, salmon, steak, and ground turkey throughout the day. Obviously not all that in one day, but I think you get my point lol. I take some meals off of the bodybuilding nutrition plans. It recommends 3000 calories and 260-300g of protein

^^ I try not to go too overboard with calories and protein like in the guides of course.

I think my problem is, I am not drinking enough water or juice like before. Honestly, I only drink a lil over a cup a day now rolleyes . I should wait another week, while consuming more liquids. If it doesn't improve by then, I'll def see a GP.

Good stuff mano.....and I think your right on with H20...you dehydrate a lot via workouts, your muscles consume energy and the waste gotta go somewhere...you don't want future problems with waste product build up not flushed out of your body on a regular basis.

You also lose electrolytes..right?...gatorade..alternate between a good filtered water and something like gaterade...make it a habit....if you have strained during any bm...that too can cause a rupture. you want the rope type initially then back to your normal once or twice daily.

Happy you've got most already undercontrol..

One of the U's down south suggested after a lengthy study, for young football players to consume 0.9 to 1.3gm per body weight of protein...not all protein is the same...pepsin is the enzyme that breaks down a wide spectrum of proteins in the stomach......and there is a limited supply daily that can be produced...if you consume too much protein...it doesn't get processed in the stomach...heads down to your small intestine "bulky" and the enzymes are unable to "catabolize" them for absorption..so a waste of protein..and $$. Quality protein so that only the minimum amount of pepsin required.......think you may already know this...as the forums are excelent informative sources....and wow do they mimic "human lab mice"....Claudio

Question - Do you think the amount of fiber I consume is factoring into this problem? I do consume quite a lot lol. Actually, most foods at the grocery store I make sure they have a nice amount of fiber. I would think it's a good thing, but just wondering if too much can be a bad thing.

      Mango,

two kinds of fiber..soluable and insoluable...your "bm's" tell the story....both kinds of fiber are not digested...no human enzyme to break them down...they are needed to form "bulk".

If your bm's are what you consider "normal"...thats a wide brush stroke.. meaning easy movement...good brown color...don't need to consume a lifetime on the can.....then you fiber is adequate...if your developing a lotta gas...perhaps too much of the insoluable fiber like grains...when you are purchasing your greens (soluable)...try and select the "spinach with many leaves on the stem....strip off the leaves..discard at least 1/2 of the stem.

Baby kale is ok too....eat the asparagus raw (bathe in water with a few drops of Hydrogen Peroxide to kill off bad stuff)...cut off any of the fiberous/stringy parts...most of the time, the more tender are the skinny ones..but some of these too have strings like fish line.

Actually any raw foods you consume..please do the same HP bath.

oops...sorry...part of my previous post "incorrect".....180 to 220 gm per day not 30...I am assuming you "work out"?...so a good shake with either whey or soy

will do you well. Of course if your not working out your 150gm not so bad...

Choose a well reviewed product...try to break thru the hype , if you not already on a body building forum..find a few...join one that fits...
