Blood pressure and afib

I heard that when you’re in afib, that taking your blood pressure at home will not give you an accurate reading because you’re In. Afib. Is this true ?

Hi,
?Yep, this is fairly true.
Not every BP home monitor will detect Afib.
?If the product isn't advertised as detecting Afib then most likely it won't.
?I am in UK and have a Microlife Watch BP home BP monitor which is approved in UK for detecting Afib and on 15 Feb 2018 when I had an event it most certainly did ...... it gave me my systolic, diastolic and HR and the display then lit up with the advice that I had recorded an Afib event.
?Taking averages is a way of getting a grip on things but as BP is such a variable anyway it would not be regarded as accurate.
I believe Omron manufacture a similar device to mine.

I'm only aware of Kardia mobile and the Kardia watch in the U.S. Both not only alert to afib but produce a credible ekg tracing you can email to your doctor.

"Arrhythmia notification" does not necessarily mean afib detection. My Omron detects arrthymia's but it's not specific. I get the notification frequently but 99.9% of the time it's benign PCPs and not afib.
