Hi Daniel .My BP goes up when I have an anxiety episode but your doctor was right the reading 141/80 is fine ,Do you also check your pulse when this happens ? And also your oxygen levels you can buy these little divices on line ( forgot what there called ) but there not expensive and you will then get the whole picture as to what is happening when you have Anxiety episode I think that will help put your mind at rest ,it does me .

Anxiety alone can make your blood pressure rise, 141 over 80 isn't horrible, higher than "normal" but not really bad. I would keep a record of your blood pressures and what you were doing and how you felt before you got the readings. The very first thing is RELAX...hahaha...I know it isn't that easy. Finding ways to control your anxiety will help with controlling your blood pressure. Watch your weight, if you are overweight try your best to lose a few pounds. Drink more water, being hydrated helps. Stay away from SALT/SODIUM...do not add salt to your food or at least cut back as much as possible and check labels for hidden salt/sodium in things you wouldn't expect to have it. And finally exercise as much as you can. If all of these things fail to lower your blood pressure your doctor may suggest a low dose medication to keep it from getting into the dangerously high zone.
