Anyone know of a reliable arm BP home monitor ?.Not an expensive one .Mine is an Omron M2 and it does a lot of errors before I get a reading .I even took it to chemist and same thing .When it eventually showed a reading it was similar to his much more expensive machine Thank you

Mine is an Omron M6 Comfort and I have no problems with it. Does your need re-calibrating I wonder? I paid £45.00 approx, from Amazon.  The self same machine at Boots was £100.00.

    Liz,

Omron seems a good make, mine is Omron M5-1.  Maybe it takes time to warm up before settling when turned on first.

If it gives you error messages it is possibly not getting  even enough beats to complete the reading. When I have irregular heart beats mine has done that at home as has the one at my GP's.

I have a new expensive Omron MIT Elite that I found on Ebay when a doctor sold one of his Freebies. I still have my 14 year old Omron M4 and it gives matching readings with the new one.

Lloyds Pharmacy on-line sell reliable ones.

I think i must be a cheapskate! I paid £12.99 for a Kinetik monitor from Tescos! I always take 2 readings and use the average. I think all machines have a "margin of error" but I guess this is lower with the more expensive monitors?

What'sTesco's slogan - every little counts!  Sounds like you got a bargain there!!

I hope it will serve you well. However, my recommendation would go to one of the Omron models. They are proven quality.
