High BP can be caused by just existing - no need to do anything to yourself at all! No guilt trip needed. Life is enough.

Hello, high blood pressure is a life condition caused by many factors mainly related to your genes, and can be trigered by every-day life activities such as stress, worries, etc. You were really close to heart failure but you were lucky. Try to walk 30 minutes per day and that will reduce you blood pressure. Ramipril is the best drug for people with our condition. Not too many options to choose from.

I too had similarly high BP levels (265/140). Although this was 2 years ago, I am only now 5 weeks into my ramipril prescription. which is currently 5mg per day, this to rise to 10mg per day in 7 days time

Non smoker, non drinker and regular gym goer, seems unfair.

A recent blood test now shows increased potassium levels which has got the attention of my local renal unit.

Interested to hear of anyone with similar experience and the outcome.
