Blood pressure rise

I have been taking sertraline 50mg for 7 days now. My BP seemed to go up significantly when I started on it, and has stayed that way since. I am on blood pressure medication but it was well controlled before starting the Sertraline. Has anyone else had this issue. Thanks.

Wow really, I also have high blood pressure and I was taking blood pressure meds twice a day but since I stated taking 50mg of zoloft every night for the past 8 months my blood pressure is very low and I have have not had to take my blood pressure is need at all in the past 8 months. You should definitely talk to your doctor about this asap because that's not good.

Just wondering if you have had some increased anxiety since starting the zoloft? That could cause an increase in bp from being more anxious. If not just keep an eye on it, make sure to let your doctor know how things are going. But likely as you start to feel better your bp should go back down to a more normal level.

Thank you for you're reply. I do feel quite anxious, but was just surprised at the sudden change. I will monitor it and see G.P if it persists.

it's currently 170-100. the lowest it goes is approx 150-98. It was well controlled before starting sertraline. I contacted G.P by phone when it was sky high on day 3 and he told me to persevere with them, but I am getting really worried now. I am going to stop taking them tommorow to see if it comes down.
