Blood pressure went out of control after a recent meal

Hi,

I am in my mid 40s. I was currently on 4mg Atacand and have been stable for a few months with most readings under 120/80. I mainly eat healthy but do on rare occassion eat out roughly once a fortnight, including pizza, fried chicken etc without incident.

On a recent experience on 10/4 where I ate half a pizza at a party, I noticed my BP spiked to 157/93 the next day 11/4. I took extra 3mg Atacand to bring it down (total 7mg). The following day on 12/4, it went even higher at 168/106 and I need a total 9mg to control it. It did eventualy went down to 6mg towards the end of the week.

Then the following week on 17/4, I went to dinner at a relative's home. The same thing re-occur where it spiked 139/91 on 18/4 needing 10mg to control, and 14mg on the following day 19/4. Today I needed 8mg to stay under control.

I am extremely worried about this crazy BP fluctuations and wonder if there is an explanation for this. Is there some tests I can ask my doctor to find the root cause? What can be done without resorting to bland diet for life? Has anyone experienced this kind of scenarios before?

My doctor don't seem to be interested to investigate the root cause. He only suggested to take more med!

Thanks in advance.
