Hiya all
Had to go back to hospital for more blood tests as the last ones have shown that my blood platelets are quite low & my allergy levels are high :huh:
The doc said that although the levels were quite low she is not too worried . :nurse: but needs to look in to it . Just wondering if anyone else here has had similar results ?

I was rushed into hospital december 2006 because i had red spots on my body and 12 blisters in my mouth, it turned out my platlet count was 4 (should be 250-300) and i was bleeding inside out, was in for 9 days and had to go on a steroid course for 9 months, i was lucky cause if id had a nose bleed id have bleed to death as its your platlets that clogs your blood,
its normally caused by a virus, your white blood cells attack the virus, but also attack your platlets, just keep an eye on any little red spots on your body or blisters in your mouth,
i have to have a blood test every 6 months now to check my platlet count, but do count myself lucky as only 1 in 3 recover from it
Be worth getting the new results in and ask if you can have regular ones, for a while atleast
Hope it all comes back clear

Dont worry too much! If I remember correctly I had very similar results about the same time they diagnosed me with the ME. I have never been back for more as like your Dr said its wasnt anything to worry about.
HOWEVER, take heed of Jay's advice and mention it to you doctor. I think I might ask for some bloods to be taken again just to check mine?

Jay you sound as as if you had a terrible time :shock: So glad that you recovered from it .
Donna , it won't do any harm to maybe get your's checked again .
I will keep an eye on it & i'm not too worried as the doc wasn't overly concerned but it's just another wee thing to add to my list things going wrong :P
I will let you know when i get the results back :?:
