u definatly need to be going back to see someone it does sound quite baffling as the main concern is usually for the kidneys /bladder but if they have been ruled out im kinda scratching my head at what it could be

if was related to the kidneys it would be coming out with the wee also

I don't understand how this trickle isn't seen as being part of your urine?

I had blood in my urine after I exercised and it turns out it came from my having super dry urogenital tissue (post menopausal.)

The tissue down there was so dry that when I moved fast (jogging) it rubbed together and broke open and bled. After running when I went to the bathroom there would be blood in my urine.

It would happen, also, when I wore really tight jeans and walked a lot - I would have blood stains in my underpants.

I later wound up with 3 diagnoses, vaginal atrophy/dryness, pelvic floor dysfunction and interstitial cystitis (urgency and frequency to urinate plus never ending lower abdominal cramps like menstrual cramps.) Taking estrogen solved all that.

Are you taking any estrogen or estriol?

i assume this blood stained water is separate from pee because it has no odor and i do not pass blood stained water when I actually pee , only this trickle in between times. i do not take vigorous exercise but i am fit and active everyday. i bought some mild estriol to apply locally and it burns rather a lot. is this usual?

    Just my two cents...

I also had a clear discharge, but assumed it was vaginal from day 1 even though I had frequent UTIs.

Turned out I had very early uterine cancer easily treated by a hysterectomy only.

The transvaginal found the polyps? Were they biopsied? You might just want to push for a D&C to completely rule out cancer and then proceed with gynelogical assistance to see if it is related to post menopausal conditions such as the extreme dryness mentioned above.

    Best of luck!

polyps scheduled for removal and a biopsy on 7 october. But not clear why vaginal atrophy should cause blood stained leak from urethra and not from vagina? Also ct scan of k/u/b was clear. GP suggests possible garuncle not visible externally.

Are you totally positive it's from the urethra and not vagina (kind of close!). If it is from the urethra do you just look at the pee? It would dilute the blood so much that it wouldn't show. You say you've had urine tests so did they confirm there was no blood in the urine? What was the course of antibiotics for? Also, what was the antibiotic called? I don't understand why the doctors are baffled - it's either coming from one place or the other so once they've sorted that out they know better where to look for the cause. Sounds like they're guessing!

OK originally had trapped kidney stone which later got free and passed out and brought with it a bloody water discharge which seems to have built up behind it (doctors agree this was probably the case) . When it first happened I did indeed think it was vaginal but then realised was from urethra. This was treated as a UTI with Nitofurantoin (horrid stuff awful side effects) but did clear up for a while.

I then got a bit enthusiastic catching up with my gardening and lifted one too many heavy watering cans and ruprured something, or so it felt and I then then got blood small amount, coming from my vagina, like a period, except I am much too old and never had it before.

This got me worried and I went to Emergency room and had all the tests I described above inc CT scan of k/u/b. Tests confirmed any UTI cleared up and everything ok except for small amount of blood in vagina. So sent for tranvaginal ultrasound which diagnosed two large uterine polyps. These are due to be removed on 7 October and biopsy tissue taken.

MEANWHILE the original blood stained watery leak from urethra has returned and is def separate from when I pee from my urethra. I consulted my GP who thinks it is probably a urethral Caruncle, and prescribed antibiotics but that did not work. Currently trying topical estriol but stings and does not seem to be having any effect.

As I understand it the three main antibiotics used for UTIs are trimethoprim (I am allergic to it), nitro....(had terrible side effects and now understand it is not recommended for older persons) and amoxy cillin (gives me uncontrollable runs after 5 days.) CT scan said no kidney stones, maybe original trapped kidney stone has injured kidney, maybe I am incubating another stone, maybe I now have another UTI?
