My doctor told me I needed a blood test a week after starting to take Ramipril. I had one booked for the end of October anyway. Should wait till a week before this test to start taking the Ramipril, or can I start right away.
?I took my blood pressure and it is high, so I am worried about waiting,

I don't know why your doctor wanted a blood test a week after starting the Rampiril. I'd contact him/her to find out.
The key wording here is..."blood test a week after starting to take Rampiril". I'd be inclined to take the Rampiril then go have the blood test. If you're still in doubt...call the Dr.

Hi Morenna,
The reason for the blood test is because Ramipril can affect kidney function. I always have a test done the week after increasing a dose & so far no issues other than dizziness. I take this med before I go to bed which resolves the dizzy issue. I would definitely speak to your GP about when to start taking Ramipril as if your BP is quite high, it is a danger to your health. The quicker you get it lowered the better. Hope this helps.
