Blood test - bad results, what could they mean?

Posted , 5 users are following.

Yesterday my aunt sent me her blood test results and basically everything seems to be under normal range. She has no idea where that comes from, as she is not undernourished and eats healthy things. Could anybody help? If you need some Polish- English translation, I will try to do my best. Thanks for any help.

Hi I'm sure that if she rings her surgery and explains her concerns they will go through her results with her, being under is probably a lot better than being over highly, it's possible that she has had some kind of viral infection and it's sent them a bit haywire

Well, it looks like your Aunt has anemia. Specifically, Microcytic Anemia. This is a very common and readily treatable condition. Your Aunt will need to supplement her iron intake with iron pills. The doctors will first have to rule out possible but unlikely internal bleeding. Unless your Aunt is having black tarry stools, it's very unlikely to be caused by bleeding.
