The only tests I had were an ultrasound, celiac test, urine sample and stool tests.  All were negative.  IBS was diagnosed after three and a half months of doctors giving me no answers.  My pain was compounded by my panic, anxiety, terror and despair before an eighth doctor diagnosed me. My panic and pain were only brought under control by my symptoms being finally identified.

My only young and had the ca125 (i didn't know it was done) the result came back high and I was rushed for ultrasound and gyna. With no evidence found of anything to do with that. This was back in October. However, the 2nd dr I seen said the test shouldn't have really been done because it's not done for a diagnosis especially with someone my age as its inaccurate in that sense and it can be elevated in for many other reasons. My scan shown one ovary slightly bigger and a hormone test was high. Was diagnosed with polystic ovaries. Still under the gp for on going tests - lots Ben done but with no answers. What are you symptoms?

    Hi Denise,

i had a CA125 done a number of years ago mainly because the symptoms of ovarian cancer are vague and can be similar to IBS, however, yours was only slightly raised and as Georgina says below many factors (including IBS) can cause it to raise slightly. For the cancer to be present it would normally be very high. An ultrasound should put your mind at rest.

I had ultrasound in December 2014 which revealed gallstones. Had my gallbladder removed April 2015

Recently had blood test and came back fine.

It is likely that I have ibs b ut it is liveable with.

Take care and keep in touch
