Blood tests!!

Hi I had a blood test and it came back with low platelet count I was told I needed to go for a second blood test which I did.

And now they've told me I need to go for a third blood test. They didn't tell me what the result of my second one was.

So needless to say im getting worried.

Can anyone let me know why I would need to do a third please.

Thank you

Try not to worry, it could be anything and the person who rang you to ask you to go back obviously didn't think about the worry they were causing you.

When are you going back?  Have you tried ringing your doctor and asking why you need to go back a third time?

Hope all goes well, let me know how you get on.

I'm going back on the 20th October to she said I have to go back six weeks after my second one.

When she rang me I asked what my results were she said only a doctor can tell me so I asked to speak to my doctor and she kept making up excuses. I finally got her to get the doctor to call me back on Thursday.

Yeah I'll try not to worry but it's hard when they don't give you enough information.

      Thanks yeah I will do

Thank you for answering my question

Don't read too much into it.  The receptionists at our surgery weren't allowed to give out results, then they started to allow them to give out 'normal' and 'satisfactory' results.  On the last lot of results I got from my surgery, the receptionist told me that I had 2 normal and one satisfactory, she was then out of her depth and could only tell me what she had been told to say.  I subsequently saw my Consultant in the hospital and told him what had happened [I wasn't worried, just annoyed] , he was livid because of the potential harm that non medical people can do and certain patients are going to let their minds run riot when they are told things like this.

If it was very urgent, they would have called you in.  Try not to worry and, good luck!
