BLOOD TESTS

Posted , 7 users are following.

Just got back from seeing a eye specialist, who said i should have my bloods done every month, and she told me to have one done at the doctors as soon as possible owing to the pains in my forehead and temple she has ruled out GCA, but wants to see me in 3 months and every time i have pains in the temple she said it is important to have a blood test  done immediately at the doctors if possible to see how high the blood is.

So off on my jolly hols saturday, and taking extra pred with me, she said to increase the pred if i feel the need too.

Hope you all have a good pain free week and take care.Magsbiggrin

Your eye specialist may just be wanting to get a better feel for how your blood numbers are correlating to the progression of your PMA.

While my doc and my rheumi specialist have not suggested any follow-up blood testing in 15 months subsequent to my prednisone regimen being prescribed, any case of a worsening condition might warrant some additional, possibly periodic, blood testing.

I admit to being curious as to how my own numbers would look today, as I maintain a current 5mg daily dose of prednisone for what I consider the maintenance of a reasonably tolerable level of symptoms (fatigue in particular has dropped dramatically from my going up from the 4mg/day of several previous months).

Good luck with your progress Margaret!
