    I love naproxen!

Do you take it regularly on just when you need a bit extra ?.

I take it as needed because my pain level varies and often I can cope without taking anything. Also, many Drs say it works much better taken regularly but I prefer not to due to stomach effects. There is also slightly increased risk of cardiovascular problems with it but it is very slight.

I take it every 12 hours. I'm afraid not to! I'm still missing work at least once a week with pain or just feeling crappy. I'm going to ask at my appointment if this is the best plan or if I should do something else.

That is how I take it, because of the stomach problems.

I tend to take it when I need that bit extra, because I do suffer from stomach problems and Naproxen might be what's causing it my GP thinks.

I'm on leflunomide and naproxen. Take the naproxen every 12 hours. It does help, I missed a dose once and found out!  The only bad thing is if I have a headache or something I haven't been able to take anything. Asking at my appointment on Tuesday.

Does the sulfasalazine work for you?  I couldn't handle the methotrexate side affects. The leflunomide isn't doing much of anything yet.

I've Been on Sulfasalazine for 15 years when I was first diagnosed with RA, my GP put me on Naproxen I haven't had any bad side effects from Sulfasalazine in all that time, but my inflammation has been rising lately and Rheumy decided to add Methotrexate, I could not handle it at all.

Thanks for the info. Dr changed my pain med to another NSAID from naproxen. He wants to wait 6 more weeks to give the leflunomide a chance to work. Next visit if I'm not better he will add something else.

Methotrexate is fne if you only take three the first week, four he second week, five the third week and six on the fourth week.  Try that before quitting.
