blood thinners.

I have read on several comments that people are on blood thinners. I was while in hospital (4 days) including op and discharge day. Im not on anything now other than painkillers. Should i be ?????? Also sleeping on the side. Was told by nursing staff and physio that its a no no. Ohhhhhhhh i so want to lol. Its interesting the different opinions you get from medical staff. I had to get on my side for my dressing change. ..ohhhh so comfortable. Your thoughts appreciated hope everyone is having a good day

    I had compression socks and low dose of dispersible aspirin for 6 weeks rather than injections for blood thinning.

    Hello Sassy...Yes I have to inj each night...But if your medics didn't mention anything perhaps you were pumped with enogh heperin before you left.

    I have awful swollen ankles tho....is this normal any one out there??

    ​I can't wait to be sleeping on my side again ..was told not to for 6 weeks so pretty weary!

    Lovely day..had a fight with the saucepan drawer to night trying to fiond the pasta pan...then another fight with the fridge door..grabber evenyually works but everything takes so LONG!

    Hope we all have an improved day tomorrow.

      Zawww ali. I have those fights too. Mine was with my crutch... i place my crurches at the side.. i was in the toilet and my crutch got caught behind the toilet. Lol it happens! ! Then i was getting out of my husbands car and my boot got stuck on a door lip....the lip no bigger than my little finger nail... sooooo frustrating lol. I hope your day was better

    same here, was on some blood thinners for 30 days post opp and them dam stockings for 6 weeks day and night which i gave up after 4 weeks as i was fully mobile

    Hi yes I'm 5 weeks post op (Tuesday ) finished blood thinners yesterday wearing dreaded TED s and agree they are such a pain ! Have never been told how to sleep or given advice re pillows etc just picked up from this forum or my mum (who had Thr last year) . Can't believe how varied all the advice is ! I'm in uk by the way . Must admit if I been out anywhere special haven't worn TEDS
