Blood thinners cause tinnitus ??

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi all, hope you are all recovering well.

Just wondered if anyone has suffered with tinnitus after their operation.  I am 5 weeks post op and since the op have suffered with this, wondering if taking Pradaxa blood thinning tablets for 4 weeks would cause this ???

I stopped taking them about a week ago, but still suffering.

Could be coincidence of course as last year I had an arthroscopy on my hip and for a year after suffered with a frozen shoulder .... weird or what.

Anyway, would be pleased to hear any comments

Thanks

    Hi Nadine

Following out of interest.  I had tinnitus before my TRHR 3 weeks ago but I have noticed it is worse the last few days.  I am also taking blood thinning tablets.

Thanks Paula, that is interesting.  I go to see my consultant a week on Friday, think I may mention it to him.

I've had tinnitus a few years and had 2 THRs in that time.

Not noticed any difference so I doubt they are related..

Seeing an ENT specialist is the next thing on my ever increasing ailments ha.

OK thanks, just wondered as it does seem strange so thought it may be the blood thinning tablets.

Awwww hope you go on OK.

Hello nadine .... I was told that  pain meds might cause the ringing in the ears some times --- how bad is it ?

      Hi Renee

Its pretty constant, although I havent really taken pain meds since week 2 and I am now 5 weeks post op.

Good morning Nadine ... maybe you can see an ENT specialist and have it checked out ... it must be so annoying - I had tinnitus for a very short time and it made me nuts - but it disappeared after a lump of ear wax was removed (sorry) -

and Quinine also caused tinnitus in my ears .... take care and let us know about the outcome ... big hugz

If it doesnt disappear of its own accord I will make an appointment to see my GP and get referred if necessary.

Thanks Renee, maybe it is just coincidence and its just ear wax. xxx
