Blood urine

I had this and took a course of antibiotics from the doc and thought I was fine and this morning the same thing happened again and yes I will be going back to the docs but thought I would ask if anyone has had the same issue. I have had this problem twice now and the blood is bright red each time.  I always thought it was more of a concern if the blood was dark so I am sure it isn't anything to worry about but all comments welcome..

Is it only in the morning??

No early evening the first time and started Friday morning but persisted throughout the day. Seven hours sleep seems to have helped but now I know it is not a one off so I am learning a little more each day.

I had the same problem after a cystoscopy but antibiotics fixed it right away. No doubt you will need a different anti biotic. Some infections are resistant to some antibiotics. Good luck.

After the severity of yesterday they are going to have to be pretty strong to stop this I think. I have a weak immune system so my body does not always react well to antibiotics. I still remember taking some as a child and my mouth swelled up like a balloon so the next few weeks could be interesting. Thank you

I'm having a similar problem but my general practice doctor said my sample showed no sign of infection. Subsequently he didn't give me any antibiotics. Could it be a kidney stone or ulcer?? I'm a rad nervous but trying to remain positive.

I will let you know more when I know more. I was bleeding all day Friday so need more advice. I do not know if I have an infection yet as not that far along. At the moment it could be anything. Personally no point getting worried as I do not know enough.

    Hi.

Similar situation to yourself, I’ve been experiencing this for around 4 months now, when it first started it was a UTI, pure red blood, burning frequent weeing, antibiotics cleared it, a week later wee was really dark and a tinge off red, took sample back to GP gave me antibiotics and sent sample to the lab for growth, no UTI, GP didn’t have any concern, I got my own dip sticks and every one I have dipped since then have shown microscopic blood, sometimes with protein, sometimes just blood, every time this showed I took a sample to GP, only symptoms from there for on was frequent weeing and back pain, GP finally referred me to urology and now waiting for a Cystoscopy, I’m 25 female. My Urologist said that there’s a small amount off patients that just bleed when weeing for no known cause, so that’s something positive to look at. I also suffer so bad with health anxiety. But I’ve been referred to numerous different specialists for different reasons so I now just write a diary ready. Good luck with going back to your GP smile

Wow. You sound like a junior doctor. I am older 40's and male. After the bleeding on Friday, all day. I called a helpline and spoke to a local out of hours doc and they thought it was sufficiently serious and had me me in today. I would shake and perspire more than burn but after the procedure today I have gone from burn to feeling like razor blades. I called the hospital and though not normal I have a narrow pipe which may have left a little trauma. Apparently the pain may last a few days. I don't know but going to the loo currently is very painful as in if I don't sit down I think my legs may go from under me. I have a feeling they'll say nothing to see here, same with my IBS. I have anxiety issues too and ASD so maybe anxiety again. I will know more in the coming weeks. Hopefully your procedure is less traumatic than mine.

The pain is down to own body sadly. I am taking paracetamol regularly and seems to be doing the trick. Thank you Justin.

Thank you Hayley. First thing this morning was the worst as I was told to drink much water which I did but that can have consequences the following day but things seem to be settling or after this morning I am just not noticing the pain smile
