BLOODSHOT / VEINY EYES

So for as long as I can remember I have suffered with red veiny eyes that are quite dry when I first wake up, but no irritation or burning or itching whatsoever throughout the day. They become slightly irritated when applying eye makeup. I thought it could be hayfever as ive noticed it more in the past few months so ive been on several different eye drops (not ones containing the thing that makes them whiter dont worry) and no eye drops work. I then take a daily antihistamine, again seems to make no difference at all. You can just constantly notice the swollen blood vessels and red eye but with no accompanied symptoms s for hayfever or any potential conditions im seeing online. attached immage below where you can see the inner and outer corner irritation. I thought it may be eye strain, if it is what can I do to get rid of the veins?imageimage

    Hi Elena

You need to see a proper eye specialist to get a correct diagnosis as to what is causing the inflammation. it could be blepharitis or Meibomian gland dysfunction, both require different treatments.

Most importantly remove eye make up at night preferably with a special eye makeup remover containing tea tree oil. You can make up 1/4 teaspoon of bi carb soda and a cup of boiled cooled water and use clean fingers to rub this solution into eye lid margins. or use a cotton bud.

There is a product called Avenova available from amazon which is also brilliant.

Your specialist will prescribe things but this is what is working for me but i have chronic dry eye and MSD and blepharitis.

The only drops i can trust are hylo forte and nova tears.

im also about to see a dietician as the wrong food can aggravate inflammation in the whole body.

lastly be scrupulous with eye makeup , source creamed eye shadow and no shiny bits. Mascara also needs to be for sensitive eyes. Clean your eyes every morning and night.
