Bloody mucus while urinating.

Hi People! I am a 25 year old female from India.

I've suffered from kidney stones (on and off) for the last 7 years. Recently I became really lax with taking care of myself, and I produced stones quite big in size (10 mm and 12 mm). I've been drinking a lot of water, and taking ayruvedic medicines to reduce their size (they help all the time). However, this time I felt a new symptom- that of feeling a shooting pinching pain up by vagina. And with that pain, when I went to pee, I found this bloody mucus like thing in my urine. This has happened thrice already. It's always the same symptom- I feel a shooting pain, I go to pee, and there's that bloody mucus.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Thanks in advance!

As this is a UK site I doubt that many are qualified to give an opinion on ayruvedic medicines!

I would imagine that your symptoms are probably related to your kidney stone and that you would be far better off going to conventional doctors and urologists. If this gets worse you may experiece really terrible pain.

There again in UK this would all be free which may not be the case in India.

    Is Ayurvedic medicine safe?

Ayurvedic medicine uses a variety of products and practices. Some of these products—which may contain herbs, minerals, or metals—may be harmful, particularly if used improperly or without the direction of a trained practitioner. For example, some herbs can cause side effects or interact with conventional medicines. Also, ingesting some metals, such as lead, can be poisonous.

    Is Ayurvedic medicine effective?

Studies have examined Ayurvedic medicine, including herbal products, for specific conditions. However, there aren’t enough well-controlled clinical trials and systematic research reviews—the gold standard for Western medical research—to prove that the approaches are beneficial.

I would strongly recommend that you see your doctor who can prescribe some conventional medicines for you, not ones based on substances which could be toxic. Your health is too important to rely on ayurvedic medicine.

Your doctor can get your urine examined for infection and give you some appropriate clinically tested proven medicine before things get worse for you.

    Please do not delay.

Oh well said sheffnet!  100% ...

While ayurvedic medicine "might" work and "may not" do you harm I would many many times prefer to put my faith in conventional medicine despite sometimes its side effects.

In UK it is actually illegal to purport to treat certain diseases other than by Registered Doctors - cancer is one ...
