Blotchy red rash/irritated skin on penile head (lasted for over 3 moths now)?

Part of the skin on the head of my penis has become slightly red and is causing some pain/irritation.

It first appeared the day after I used a condom so I think I must have had a reaction to the latex or some other substance in the condom.

The tip of the penis became super sensitive and noticeably hurt whenever it touched my underwear.

The skin was and still is noticeably red close to and directly around the meatus. This redness gets worse and bigger after I've come out the shower or masturbated.

An hour or so after ejaculation, I get a slight burn/irritation at the very end of the urethra when I urinate and this can last for a few days before subsiding. This has put me off from masturbating as much now.

This has lasted for about 3 months now with no signs of improvement.

I saw a doctor and was prescribed timodine/hydrocortisone cream and this didn't have much effect and am slightly worried it may just make things worse so have stopped using it for now.

It almost seems as if the redness comes from within the skin rather than on the surface.

I don't think its balanitis as I haven't had that for over 12 years when I was a kid and that was with the usual smegma discharge etc, whereas this is just redness. 

I've attached images to show how it looks straight after showering, which is when the redness is at its worst and the contrast between the normal skin colour and the redness can be clearly seen.

    Drs said 2 years ago I had a yeast infection took a pill didn’t do nothing, then was on anti fungal medication,  had a cream didn’t do nothing.  Then was on Taro-Clobetasol and that worked,

    2 weeks ago I had prostatitis so Dr. Put me on Cipro for 7 days then went on doxy for 7 days that’s when this redness started..

    Im off all medications now and using a cream called Micatin is not helping. Going to see a skin specialist tomorrow.

    I can honestly say it’s the doxy that caused this and it’s going to last I’d say a month or more,

    lets see what the specialist says.

      Came back from the specialist he examined the redness and said to try Topicort. 

      Which really worked 

      , on it for 2 days. 

      He says could be prostatitis.

    It's looking very red and one food i have eaten a lot of today is cherry tomatoes...

    I'm looking in to food alergies right now... I think what caused my problem in the first place was a reaction to latex condoms. They say if you're allergic to latex to then avoid - Tomatoes, Chestnuts, Kiwi fruits, Bananas, Avocados... and I eat a lot of tomatoes and bananas.

    I will try cutting these out of my diet this week and see how I get on.

    I had a vigorous BJ over a condom about 5 weeks ago. Ever since then I've had a really sensitive tip of my penis. Sometimes my penis itself hurts, and sometimes it's just the tip. I'm trying to avoid sex with my GF since it starts to feel better, but that is getting difficult to avoid. It hurts when I exercise because of the rubbing.

    I'm circumcised

    Tested negative for STD's

    I've never been depressed, but now I'm borderline suicidal.

    Exercise is part of my life, and now I can't exercise since it hurts my penis to much.

    I feel like my intuition is telling me that If I don't touch it or do anything with it for a month, it will heal and everything will be fine. Has anyone tried this?

    Questions:

    Has anyone ever been healed?

    Are you still having the problem?

    Are you are circumcised?

      I'm in the same boat man! Exactly same.. I also have been battling a depression anxiety like never before because of this situation.. I think I dark moments like that it's important to take a step back and imagine if it was your best friend, how you'd encourage him and say thoughts of suicide over a minor rash is ridiculous! (I'm not judging you at all bcuz I'm struggling with the same irrational thoughts)

      It will get better and heal we just have to take it one step at a time🤙🏽

     I am circumcised, I’ve stop putting all creams on. It’s been a total of one year and I think it’s starting to get better, unless I’m just used to the irritation.  And my wife has not mentioned anything about  her having anything . One other thing mine started after using hand sanitizer  on my penis

      I hope you're not just saying that bcuz mine started from dousing hand sanitizer on my whole genitals including in the urethra ! I've searched and searched for an explanation of that but wasn't convinced! Let's please keep each other updated this whole thing has caused me so much stress! My initial post was a few days back on this thread 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

      So your issue started with steroid cream? Or hand sanitizer? Your previous posts are conflicting eachother

    guys i found something

    If your glans penis area is red skin without burning and pain, this problem maybe a drug allergy or food allergy 

    When I use Doxycycline my glans penis is red and after 3 days i not use doxy and anything back to normal

      I have had the same problem , every time I use doxycycline after a couple of days this redness starts around the head , under the foreskin. 

      When you take doxycycline it travels through ur body , gets filtered in the kidney and then you urinate the doxycycline out.      I get a red burning pain after a couple of days after using doxy.  I guess every day the amount of doxy builds up and this effects the head of the penis.  It takes from 5 to 10 days for the redness to go away. 

      This is my 2 experiences using doxycycline.
