Blotchy red rash/irritated skin on penile head (lasted for over 3 moths now)?

Part of the skin on the head of my penis has become slightly red and is causing some pain/irritation.
It first appeared the day after I used a condom so I think I must have had a reaction to the latex or some other substance in the condom.
The tip of the penis became super sensitive and noticeably hurt whenever it touched my underwear.
The skin was and still is noticeably red close to and directly around the meatus. This redness gets worse and bigger after I've come out the shower or masturbated.
An hour or so after ejaculation, I get a slight burn/irritation at the very end of the urethra when I urinate and this can last for a few days before subsiding. This has put me off from masturbating as much now.
This has lasted for about 3 months now with no signs of improvement.
I saw a doctor and was prescribed timodine/hydrocortisone cream and this didn't have much effect and am slightly worried it may just make things worse so have stopped using it for now.
It almost seems as if the redness comes from within the skin rather than on the surface.
I don't think its balanitis as I haven't had that for over 12 years when I was a kid and that was with the usual smegma discharge etc, whereas this is just redness.
I've attached images to show how it looks straight after showering, which is when the redness is at its worst and the contrast between the normal skin colour and the redness can be clearly seen.

Going in for the biopsy tomorrow. I will report back after the dermatologist gives me the results.

Saw the dermatologist today. He wasn't ready to do the biopsy, but thinks that it might just be a rosacea like vascular issue. Gave me some medicine to try, and if it doesn't work within a week, then it will be time to consider the biopsy.

Rhofade. It might be helping a little, but it has irritated the hell out of my glans. All touch, like underwear, is painful like it used to be back in the beginning of the problem. Walking sucks. not going to keep using it.

I don't know anything about Rhofade but I've noticed creams and medicines often take a day or two to get used to and sometimes make things worse for that initial contact.

Good point. I will give it another day or two.

And anyway there is no treatment now except sugery incase precancerous lesion is detected . but boosting your immunity alone is enough to supress the virus .this anxiety and stress, unhealthy practices will definitely lower your immunity .

Quick update, I've came on here almost two years ago, can follow my story from about page 26....
anyway, just to re-iterate. I had some really weird stuff going on down below but after some time and research and understanding the symptom picture, I concluded I aquired a lyme disease and possibly co-infection (bartonella etc.) infection most likely from a girl I slept with. Either that or I was bit by a vector during my trip...anyway, I documented everything in my previous posts, just go back and review them if you need to. So to sum up, almost 1-3/4 years later and I'm doing way better, I'd say 99% on good days, 90% on bad days...... but I believe that this infection is probably chronic and life long at this point. About 1 year mark, I healed up completely in my boxer short region (thank god), but then around that time I had an outbreak on the top of my hand, maybe 20x20 cm that basically has stayed ever since. Really weird, it's almost like it picked up and moved locations.......And as per how lyme disease bacteria works, it comes and goes in severity, basically once a month it flares(bacterial life cycle) but so far hasn't moved from that small patch on my hand....it's extremely weird that it stays confined in that area though. I've noticed some skin marks (tell tail lyme disease skin phenomenon) seem to want to start in other area's but never amount to anything.....they seem to only like certain area's of skin, like thin skin...... I don't even bother seeing doctors, or quite frankly give a s**t anymore. It is what it is, just trying to manage and live with it, hoping some day it goes away....
To everyone out there, I know how much this sucks, I see a lot of people fussing over testing etc. trying to figure out EXACTLY what sort of bug is on them, and I think that's good to some degree, but you have to know when to let it go and just try to live with it, manage it and stop worrying about it. Also, this self HPV diagnosis is probably correct for some and incorrect for others, there's a thousand +1 causes for this sort of thing and for sure it's varied for everyone on this thread so I'd try to steer clear of making blanket diagnosis unless you have conclusive evidence. In my case, the more I researched the more the symptom picture lead me to lyme disease and co-infection diagnosis....
Anyway, all the best gentlemen. Sending positive vibes to you and your shlongs...

i am glad youve recovered & have some peace. your insight is welcome.
...to clarify, are you saying that you acquired Lyme Disease thru sexual transmission, & that it was primarily responsible for your symptoms? or is/was the bacteria primarily to blame?

Yeah, all signs point to aquired through sex, like 90% sure.... but just not 100% sure. It's known that it can be aquired through sex, passed onto infant through birth as well.....just not a whole lot of research on these transmission types yet...but it is possible. And I'm one ancedotal case.
The only reason I'm not 100% sure is that the girl I was with doesn't have any symptoms, or atleast that's what she's telling me. But it's also known that MANY people can harbor the bacteria and not show outward signs.
Perfectly healthy, although VERY run down at the time, within 2 days of being with her(unprotected intercourse and oral), had all sorts of crazy $hit going on with my junk. First thing was two HUGE red pimples, didn't think anything of it at the time, within a week, had a two day flu, major night sweats and the infection kicked in and started raging... literally looked like it was dying, if you had to describe what a dick would like if it was "sick", then that was the perfect example. Along with a host of other F'n bat $hit crazy symptoms that I'd rather not discuss. Didn't have a clue at the time what was going on. But all the pieces came together over the year, after going through the infective phase and LOTS of research, all signs point to Bb (Borrelia Burdorferi) bacteria, aka, lyme disease. Oh, and it really prefers female bodies, something to do with hormones, I have a feeling that ALOT, and I mean an F'n lot of girls have this infection and possibly don't show it, especially if they're promiscuous, so be forewarned...

I suffered with this for about 5 weeks. It happened to me after a late night drunken masturbation session. I tried treating it with vaseline for about 3 weeks with no change and then started researching it. That led me to trying antifungals for a weeks which didn't work and only dried out the head of my penis. I then ordered some balantitis relief cream and while i was waiting on it to arrive in the mail i started using baby diaper rash cream. After 3 days of using the cream the head of my penis returned to its normal state without any irritation. I then started using the balantitis cream but at that point my gland was back to normal. Just wanted to share my story, hope it helps!

you had the red rash on glans like in the pictures above? or you were just irritated? I think everyone on this thread who has been dealing with this issue can agree. I doubt you have/had what has been talked about on this thread.

Looked just like the OPs pics. Almost went to the doctor but thought I would get the same story as everyone else. Just giving my story and trying to help.

I did 3 days fasting with just water only and i did not see any improvement. I still have redness on my penis glands, my urethra meatus (penis tip) is swollen. I have also been eating healthy diet. I really dont know what we should do to get rid of this.

I'm in the middle of day number 2.... Are you going to try to keep going to day 5? Everything k read about fasting talks about the benefits really starting around day 3.
