Blotchy red rash/irritated skin on penile head (lasted for over 3 moths now)?

Part of the skin on the head of my penis has become slightly red and is causing some pain/irritation.
It first appeared the day after I used a condom so I think I must have had a reaction to the latex or some other substance in the condom.
The tip of the penis became super sensitive and noticeably hurt whenever it touched my underwear.
The skin was and still is noticeably red close to and directly around the meatus. This redness gets worse and bigger after I've come out the shower or masturbated.
An hour or so after ejaculation, I get a slight burn/irritation at the very end of the urethra when I urinate and this can last for a few days before subsiding. This has put me off from masturbating as much now.
This has lasted for about 3 months now with no signs of improvement.
I saw a doctor and was prescribed timodine/hydrocortisone cream and this didn't have much effect and am slightly worried it may just make things worse so have stopped using it for now.
It almost seems as if the redness comes from within the skin rather than on the surface.
I don't think its balanitis as I haven't had that for over 12 years when I was a kid and that was with the usual smegma discharge etc, whereas this is just redness.
I've attached images to show how it looks straight after showering, which is when the redness is at its worst and the contrast between the normal skin colour and the redness can be clearly seen.

first i want to say im not a doctor im just sharing some information that i have
so those are all the symptoms of prostatitis or the chronic pelvic pain.
the red penis tip, burning in the penis tip after ejaculation or urination mostly when you are about to sleep
another symptom is groin pain pelvic pain and sometimes it feels like you are sitting on a golf ball you feel some kind of pressure between your testicles and anus
prostatitis or chpp is mostly caused by stress and if you take the test most of the time are negative because this is not caused by bacteria
ofcourse it will go away, it will go faster if you dont think about it and stay calm all the time.
So the best thing is not to check the internet about you symptoms because you will be stressed af. so dont try to diagnose yourself

yes i totaly agree . these symptoms are all from chronic prostatitis . I aslo have it ......years now . Stres triggers it .

i sleep just fine, my symptom actually dont bother me at all during the night, but like now im still feesing cows, and oh boy it burns and there is pain in my glans!
havent had sex in 8 months

What was causing mine actually turned out to be a deeply rooted yeast infection in my GI tract and urinary system. Had to not eat carbs, grains, or any sugar (not even fruit) for 3 months. Took fluconazole 200mg/day for 6 weeks and a bunch of natural antifungals like caprylic acid, garlic, oil of oregano etc. Diagnosis was a preponderance of the evidence as its a pretty tricky diagnosis to fully prove.
Also part of the problem and somehow related to the infection was that I believe it triggered CPPS, so stress and tension can still cause a bit of inflammation. But by supporting my adrenal glands with natural herbs and being aware of physical stress/relaxing the pelvic floor when I start to feel anything, I am able to keep the pain away/down.

I am excited to hear that you found a solution. Yay!!!! Thank God some of us have found solid relief 😄 You have had success with lessening symptoms, pain, redness, all of that?
For those of us on the fence, was there any test, procedure, etc. that truly helped point to this? My doctors won't prescribe that long of an anti-fungal without anything pointing that direction.

hi guys! i already told my case here in this topic, but it seems it was tottaly ignored, because you ger still trying everything without success.
i am Brazilian. Sorry by my english. I had the same sympthons / evidences. After a long long time suffering, 5 urologists, i searched by an infectologist. Then, i test an exame called here PCR Multiplex, or IST Panel, wich uses the urine DNA to compare with lots of deceases DNA. Then i had a positive test for Mycoplasma Genitalium, an almost new IST decease.I treated and now im fine.

Hi mate! did you happen to have any pictures of what your condition looked like? was it from a sexual encounter? were you red on the end of the penis? any pain etc?

Yes, Mycoplasma's can cause alot of problems, they're getting worse now due to many factors...really difficult to test for, good for you regarding getting testing through PCR etc.
curious, how did you treat it? antibiotics? doxycycline?

when you say you have balls on your glands, do you mean little bumps?

it started with a burning urination. then the glans began to turn red, dry. then some small balls in the glans. Red foreskin. burning after ejaculating. so I had pelvic pain too. I had risky sex, always with a condom, except in oral sex. First attempt at treatment, azithromycin + doxycycline failed. Only solved with Moxifloxacin.

yeah, see i dont have any pain, only red/pink forskin and penis head... it looks almost leathery and also only noticble when erect... so very very strange.

first try: 7 days of azitromicina 500mg one dose per day + 100 mg doxiciclina twice for 10 days
Second try: 4 days of Moxifloxacino once per day.

Your story makes me very optomistic I can beat this!
Can you confirm that you had Dry, Red, Irritated, Bumpy Penis which you solved by taking Moxifoxacin?
After you took the antibiotics how long until it completely went away? Is it like it was before all of this started ? back to normal?
