I have had partial epilepsy for many years, it is fully controlled with medication. The government has just announced a plan to extend the blue badge parking scheme to people with mental disorders, so my question is really, is epilepsy classed as a mental disorder?

In some states it is. It's a neurological disorder which has to do with your brain so I would say yes but you should ask your doctor

But in some cases, like mine, I had them for so long "uncontrolled" it did damage to my short term memory.. but there is still a fine line between coo coo mental bipolar off the wall crazy, and some brain damage... Talk to your neurologist. It is a "neurological disorder" It's enough to qualify you for SSI, so in some states, who knows.
