Blurry vision in mornings for a few hours

I M(54) had cataract surgery on my dominant eye 2 1/2 weeks ago, and on my other eye 4 days ago. Both received Eyhance toric lenses set to plano, and post-op check shows 20/20 vision in both eyes, which I am happy about. I use 1.25 readers for anything closer than arm's length.

While my first eye has no issues, my second eye has different behavior whereby my vision is slightly blurry a few hours after going to bed (which I notice when I get up in the middle of the night) until 2 - 3 hours after I get up in the morning, then things settle down and becomes sharp the rest of the day. I did not have this experience with the other eye.

I realize that it takes up to 6 weeks for things to settle after cataract surgery, but am wondering if this is significant or if my eye will settle down and remain the same regardless of time of day or whether I've been sleeping or not. Apart from this quirk, I'm very pleased so far with the results of my surgery.

You may want to try dry eye drops first thing when getting up to see if that helps. I also notice my vision is not quite as crisp first thing on wakening. However that effect only seems to last a few minutes for me and then it is fine.

Thanks, I've tried eye drops first thing but it doesn't help the blurriness, but does feel good. Hopefully the morning blurriness thing resolves itself with time.

If you are still taking the prescription eyedrops after cataract surgery, that can cause the blurriness I found. I didn't get clear vision at all times day and night until a couple months after the surgery after the eyedrops were stopped. So less than a week after surgery definitely you may have periods of bluriness, I certainly did during that period. For me the vision varied on a daily basis, one day nice and sharp/clear and the next day very blurry, and kept changing like that until almost 2 months after surgery.

Yes, I had forgotten about the drops. I took Vigamox 4 times a day for the first 7 days, and Durezol once a day for 21 days. They did cause some blurriness and sometimes stung a bit. I found that effect went away fairly quickly after the drops were put in.
