How long ago did you have surgery? If you're still taking blood thinning medication they also made me feel as if I had flu try taking them with food I found it helped me

I'm just over 3 weeks since my surgery and I seem to run out of energy all of a sudden - no real pattern to it. Knee still very swollen and it's still very difficult to sleep at night, I'm guessing it's normal for us to feel like this. Plus I find myself getting a bit impatient at not being able to do the exercises as well as I feel I should (if that makes sense) I can only lift my leg up a small amount. I can only bend it a small amount, I know it's a vast improvement since 3 weeks ago but I'm just anxious to get back to some sort of normality

Try not to harper after normality.
You know what they say about a watched kettle...well, something like it takes longer to boil!
You are doing fine!
This is what I wrote in my journal at 11 days post op....
"I have now just started to have what could be called exercise sessions. Up until now exercise has been attempting to do little bits of various exercises dotted across the day. I have been too tired to do them in a block of time. But now I have just one session in the morning and one in the afternoon for 20 minutes."
Up til this point I was so exhausted and found the exercises so hard that though I attempted them I was doing very little. I spent more time icing elevating and resting!
This is what I did each day, as recorded in my journal:
"I pick one exercise I find hard and focus on it. I have chosen the heel slides on the bed, as it is hard, but not too hard. This focus on exercises includes trying related types of movements. Though I am doing other exercises at other times, and I am finding little patterns emerging, (as I think I wrote earlier, as I do certain exercises in certain places), it is all rather random. What this rather laid back approach does give me is plenty of variety and creativity. I try out little bits of Yoga moves and other parts of exercises I did before the surgery. I am working on the principle that my body remembers things. It is not about me trying to do what I used to be able to do but cannot now. It is more about introducing my new knee to ways of moving that the old knee used to do. Bit like someone taking over your job. A hand over period! Whatever I try out, I do it with a lot of care and in small amounts."
This went on for a long time!
You will get there but need to accept that your body will set the pace!

Wow! Love this reply. Small nurturing loving steps toward heeling. I find the heel slides to be the most difficult & painful. Do you know why it’s painful? Also, do you believe just trying to do them even if you’re not hitting a certain pt degree it’s dtill beneficial to do it? I am thinking it is. And I don’t have a way to measure angle so idk

Cut down on the walking, range of motion is more important.
Your muscles will take time to get stronger.
