Body identical HRT

hello all lovely ladies

After 8 years of pure hell i'm now considering taking HRT in the form of the body identical patch or gel. i can't live like this until i die i just want a bit of normality back.

Because of the Covid virus We're in lock down until 2nd of Dec and people are infuriated they cant go out but i'v been almost living like this for 8 years so im not feeling it.

Unfortunately my GP surgery isnt open at this time to ask advice but the last few times iv been asking for help with the menopause the GP told me to cope and get on with it, yes i cried all the way home.

Anyway what im asking is how has your experiences been with body identical HRT, what are the side effects. Do you have a bleed, headaches etc.

many thanks for reading my post and hope to hear from you soon but in the meantime take of yourselves and stay strong x

    hi anxious,

Ive been on bio identical hormones for 5 years. Will stay on them the rest of my life. I feel great and know my life would have been miserable if I didn't get on them. Getting with the right doc that will run labs regularly and know what their doing is vital. You shouldn't have to be in the dark as to what or not to expect from your hormones if your with the right doc. It is very normal to bleed if you've been without periods for awhile when starting hormone treatment. if you have a uterus still you need to be on progesterone also. i believe the headaches could be from too much estrogen. Are you taking testosterone too? Testosterone can offer many benefits as well.

its difficult to find the right one, im not sure if i need something stronger. love the patch because you stick it on & forget about it, ive heard the gel is good because you can adjust the dose yourself, but is messy? i think i was expecting hrt to be my cure so finding it disappointing but need to keep trying for quality of life! i think bio-identical is only available private (uk)? download the balance app lots of great info on there about hrt xxx
