Body Plasticity

Not sure if this is the right place for this question as it's probably a physiotherapy topic but....... This question is about how the body grows and its ability to change over time. Several years ago I started having back and knee pain and was diagnosed with a herniated disc. Even more worrying is that my back was too flat and I suspect that I also have a posteriorly tilted pelvis. As I think back throughout the course of my life I came to the realization that my posture had always been incorrect. The way I naturally stand or walk or lift things up. I also find sitting or standing for long periods of time uncomfortable and unless I really focus and concentrate my body naturally slinks into a terrible position. I suspect that over my 40 years my body has grown into an improper form.

My 2 questions are:

If you’ve had bad posture your whole life from an early age does your body grow differently, as in where your muscles and bones attach to one another changing the natural mechanics of your body?

How much plasticity does the human body allow for to change to another shape, especially given that I am no longer a young man?
