Body Scanning! Anyone else?

Posted , 3 users are following.

Lately I find that I've been examining almost every square inch of my body and "discovering" so many things that I never had (or maybe it's that I never noticed). For instance, I'm fixating on the fact that my joints (knees, elbows and knuckles) are bonier than I recall. I have this insane compulsion to keep looking at them or to be touching them at all times.

Has anyone else ever gone through this? I'm absolutely tortured by wondering if these are real, genuine concerns that I should bring up versus me just fixating on things that have always been there. Definitely causes me a lot of anxiety.

you are a fixating and every little thing related to your body. Believe me, it’s not worth it! I did that for years and it was years I can’t get back of worrying for nothing! My advice to you is to get a yearly physical at your doctors and if everything is OK, get on with your life and enjoy it!

we are always going to find a little imperfections in our body but that in no way means there’s anything wrong! You’re not going to be able to self diagnose anything and worry is a waste of time. There’s too much to enjoy in life. Stay busy and active., Do things for others because it takes the focus off of yourself. Take care

I started to do this when I'm feeling anxious and always happen to find something to dwell on which fuels my anxiety. I try to tell myself that I'm young, healthy and it's just anxiety but it's not always possible to believe it and relax. Try to distract yourself, go out for a walk, go to the shops, do some exercise, read some books, watch some light hearted films or shows. Try to stay away from social media or news
