Boil still weeping after 5 weeks

I am prone to recurring books however I have never had one take this long to heal. I have had this boil for five and a half weeks. It was the most painful one I have ever had and the symptoms such as fever etc had me in bed for 2 days. Doctor gave me antibiotics which helped with the pain and infection. However 5 weeks on it is still weeping our though it is anywhere near as painful as before. I don't know whether to let it go and wait for it to heal itself or to go back to Dr. Anyone have any advice? TIA.
