Bone Graft

How do you tell a bone garft has healed? Is there a way to tell via XRAY of the difference between bone graft "putty" that has gone from putty stage to hard healed bone? How does that show in an xray. Reason I am asking is I have a boe graft done from existing shattered bone fragments and on xrays everything looks good and major fracture healed but doctor says is can still be fractured I dont understand that?

No I'm just worried it's never going to heal! I had a pretty bad finger injury and it's been a long process to now and I want to focus on therapy and getting my movement back but scared it may mess up the bone healing? So how does the dr know forsure is healed, because my last X-ray before I got my kwires removed looked healed but I'm in cast still.

Your Dr. is simply taking a precautious approach. Go with that.
