Hi,

About 12 years ago I suffered a tibia & fibia injury. The ankle was broken and had to he put back together with a plate and sole screws. Fast forward another 6 years and i get diagnosed with Spina Bifidia the unfused vertabrae, and acute scoliosis in my back. Here we are to current day and my "good" foot on the left has suffered a plantar fascitis injury. I am only 28 so i understand hesitation on certain treaments, but it seems Physical therapthy is all any of the doctors I have seen will reccommend.

Doctors I have seen: Primary at hospital, Orthopedic, Neurologist, and a handful of xray technicians.

Oh lastly, I do often go see a chiropractic, but that only provides me with two days of relief. It pretty much all hurts everyday and I'm hoping someone in this forumn can guide me as to what specialist I can see that will do something more then just PT.

i cant imagine the pain and frustration you feel. i have ongoing back problems which are frustrating but i am 52 so i suppose issues with my back are to be expected to an extent especially as i have put myself through a lot of physical exercise in my time. At 28 you are way too young to be suffering as your body's ability to recover is still so great. In my personal experience i have found that whilst i don't always get it right i have had to source out my own information and educate myself as much as possible on self treatment. It really is a hit or miss finding someone who can help as they all have their own opinion and means of treatment. Personally i prefer more hands on treatment than a physio so i use an osteopath. They treat what they feel rather than just with a method if that makes sense. i think your best bet is sourcing out anyone who has had a similar injury to you or similar experience and find out who they received treatment from. Good luck x

Have you not had your Spina Bifidia fixed? I Thought that was a given in most cases of Spina Bifidia. Do you have osteoporosis maybe? They will not want to do any surgery on your back if your spine is weak.
