Borax and baths...

I only recently (was told a year ago to try) to take a bath with Borax and Baking Soda...when first diagnosed with LS was told by my doctor (I live in the US) NOT to take too many baths as the warm/hot water could dry my delicate area even more - SO when I heard all u ladies (from ALL over the world) bathing with Borax (which is a clothes washing liquid - to me) I thought "Never"....(since then I was also told it can be a drink - dissolved in water and used everyday....) anyway - getting off my thought - when u use Borax in the tub - how much do u use and do u wash your "area" off when getting out of the tub? Rather than leave in "there"? I will say just after one bath my "area" did have a softness and warmth to it...your thoughts, please, on dosage and how often??

I personally don't take baths in borax. I use 1tbsp of it in a sitz bath for a soak maybe once a week and swab most mornings using a solution of 1 tsp mixed in a small container (coffee cup size). I don't rinse it off, just pat dry and leave it, then at my next visit to loo I apply either emuaid ointment or cetraben and keep them going for rest of day.
The borax solution has always helped keep the skin soft and supple and I find it soothes irritation.
I would never ingest it.

I don't use borax...or baking soda...or epsom salts... All give me major irritation. But, I do take baths...every day, religiously. It is amazingly good for my LS. So try whatever works. The bath is wonderful. Hot in winter...cool in depths of summer...whatever.

Ladies - I thank u ALL for your useful information - as with everything in life I think it IS trial and error...we might have the same "condition" - LS - but it is clear to me that different bodies heal in different ways...I wish u all the BEST!!
