borderline smear hpv

Hi all in october 2014 i had my first smear which came back borderline hpv 4 weeks later end of November i went for my coloscopy and doctor said everything looked fine and my doctors will be in touch when my next smear is due well ive recentley found out my nxt smear isn't due till 2017 i so scared the hpv is going to be worse by then or is it possible i don't have hpv any replies would be greatfull

    look up subject heading   Replace smear testing with HPV self-sampling kits now on hear.

    Both my daughter in law and a neighbor were in your boat a few years ago, both were ok and still are years later.  After you have read the above im sure you will feel a lot better and have more understanding on these smear tests and the verdics they are giving too.

      Did ur neighbour or daughter in law have to have treatment as when i went colsocopy the doctor said everything looked fine will look at that article now thank u so much x

    Not sure what you mean by "borderline" HPV.  I always heard that you either had it or you didn't and not sure why you'd have a colposcopy for having even having a positive test for HPV unless it was one of the strains that can cause cancer or your smear showed atypical cells.  Since your next smear is recommended in two years, I'd say you may not have the dangerous strain and have nothing to be worried about.  Best to call your doc for clarification.
