Boric Acid

So here we go again... so I was using clyndamicin but that didn’t seem to help because I started smelling down there and itching again fml! Anyway, I went again to the doctor and for the 5th time this year I got prescribed Metrodinazole however I don’t want to keep taking that BS. So I recently purchased boric acid because I’ve read many positive things about it. For those that have used it, how many times do you recommend using it? Also, if I have sex with my bf and I use it overnight and the next day he wants do oral, would that be unsafe? I just concerned about oral and me using it.

If I were you I would only use it at night. When I used it I would use one in the morning (with a pad for leakage) and one at night and I starting bleeding a lot on day three. I tried to keep going but it just seemed to get worse so I stopped. Use them from 14-21 days. Then cut back and just do maintenance. I unfortunately can’t use them because of the bleeding but they did clear me up after the first day but it came back. I use VH essentials suppositories now as an alternative and they don’t make me bleed. Good luck with the BA!

Oh wow that must have been really scary for you. I’m going to give them a try but if I notice bleeding then I’ll stop. Have you noticed a difference in the VH suppositories?

For me it had the same effectiveness the BA had and I actually preferred it since it seemed to be less harsh. i Don’t really see any sings of my BV and my doctor didn’t either on Tuesday- my discharge was a little thick (could be my paranoia) but he said I have plenty of good bacteria and he couldn’t see any bad. Im waiting for my PCR test to come back. I’m not sure what helped me the VH suppositories and the VH probiotics phembiotics is the only thing I’ve been doing differently. I’m not going to say I’m cured because I’m skeptical. But this is the longest I’ve gone without any treatment and not seeing it come back. It’s been since Monday.

I have used Boric Acid for years.  Always when the smell rears it’s ugly head!  I’ve actually made BA suppositories with essential oils added(tea tree, purification, and lemon). It always helps temporarily.  I tend to use it for 2-4 nights once the sell comes back.  There are 2 small issues that happen with me:1) what goes in, must come out.  So you will have some leakage from it in the morning. 2) It can sometimes cause a little irritation from it being an acid.

Both of these small issues don’t ever keep me from using them.

As for oral sex the day after, I’d probably recommend against it since BA is toxic.

Thank you for the heads up : ) are you currently sexually active as well? I’m just a little worried about using them and having sex. My bf and I have been trying to get pregnant and I’m afraid BA will prevent it more from happening.

I am sexually active with my husband. I got BV after I had kids(got it from swimming in a lake where there  was some warmer water which changed my Ph)...so pregnancy has never been an issue

I wouldnt let him do oral if using the boric acid. That is just my opinion, possibly wait a whole day without using it (24 hrs) then receive oral. But as far as using it and then a few hours later receiving doesn’t seem like the best idea.

    Good Luck! 🍀

Thank you for your help. I wasn’t sure how many hours or days would be okay to wait for oral if I’m using boric acid. I know it’s pretty dangerous and I don’t want to put him or myself in danger of anything.
