bowel moement pain

Hi Everyone,

Back in late April I had a flare up and was put on antibiotics. This was by far not my first flare. Recently I have been having llq pain pretty bad before a bowel movement. The stool is loose so its not like a rock is coming out but it sure feels like it. Does anyone else have this after a flare and if so how long does it last? I have not had pain this bad before after a flare. It usually stays mild. I am hungry so I know it is not another flare.

You should go be checked out. when I was hurting that bad to have a bowel movement, I had a perforation.

I had a colonoscopy in 2017. The pain isn't unbearable but more pain then I would like. I will go to the doctor tomorrow.

Hi Julie, when I had that kind of pain both times it was an abscess. The others are right. You should go get checked out. I'm 3 weeks into recovering from a resection. And it's been soooo worth it. Hope you feel better soon.

No, I have not had the type of pain you described. Is it aided by a warming pad on your abdomen or an extra-strength Tylenol?

I was not able to see my gp today so I went to a walk-in clinic only to have the doctor give me antibiotics without physically touching me. I will be seeing my own doctor as soon as possible and in the meantime do the antibiotics. I am not in constant pain anymore thank goodness. I will be using the my hot water bottle later tonight.
