Bowel motions - suddenly become floating

Posted , 3 users are following.

About a month ago I started to have bowel motions that float rather than my normal sinkers. I have not changed my diet and generally feel well. What could be a possible explanation?. Should I be worried?.

usually caused by greasy / fatty food, other than that its nothing to worry about

Thanks trex for your comments. After 5 weeks of this I appear to be getting back to normal. I do not have greasy or fatty foods so it had me puzzled. My GP sent me for a blood test on Monday and I am awaiting the results. I also suffer from IBS so it may be connected, but if so, it is the first time in 30 years of IBS that this has occurred.

Hi Pato, bowel motion increases of some kind of foods only. I don’t know exactly. I hope you will feel better soon.

Thanks Jeremy. I am taking a note of my food intake and perhaps I will find out which food is problem.

My blood tests came back ok, so I am really no further ahead. There are plenty of people worse off than me so I am not too worried but just curious about the cause. Cheers.
