Bowel problems

Hello My name is Jenna and i am a 26/f and have been having problems with my colon for almost the past year...I have went to the er for this and also my doctor. When i went to the er it was about 7 months ago for the first time when this all began, and the xray showed that I was backed up bad. So they gave me a few stool softners and some magnesium citrate to clean me out. I thought it was cured.... when i went home to take the magnesium I had trouble with the taste but eventually drank it all. So the next day i went like crazy... all brown water though. Then i took the stool softner and for the next few days pooped the watery feces out... I felt a little better after that and got on with my life. Well about a few days later it all came back even worse.... so i went to my doctor and she said to add more fiber... I was kind of upset that there could not be anything else done.... but i did it anyways... then for the next few months it continued to worsen up and down pain between 1-10 varying. I have been to the er about 7 times and they didnt want to give me another xray to see if im still backed up... I am thinking this whole time i have an impaction..but do you think it would have passed by now? I am also seeing mucs in poo and they are very irregular. pls help.

Hi Jenna, I would visit your GP and ask for an ultrasound scan and a gluten test. They should do this at least before putting it down to IBS. Reason I say this is because my problems (both symptoms and length of time) have been similar to you and for me it seems to be an ovarian cyst that had been aggravating. Good luck, Louise

Hi Jenna think you should 're visit your doctor, explain your not happy and you would like further investigations done. If not agreeable then ask for a second opinion. You can always take demolition they are fairlygood May help till sorted out. When your bowls do not work then it may be due to some underling condition like IBS, GALLBLADDER or any other gut condition. Let me know how you get on.

Jenna - Have you been to a gastroenterologist? They are the doctors who specialize in this. They will have answers for you.

Yes Sue I have went to a gastroenterologist. They just looked at me and felt my tummy and he said he "didnt" see anything wrong with me which p***** me off cuz they didnt even give me an xray. He told me to eat more "fiber" which also p***** me off since thats all the doctors have told me before... and he also said it sounded like "ibs" but wasnt sure.... he was very unprofessional seeing how he didnt wanna give me an xray before claiming that I could be "fixxed" without one... they did everything backwards.. treating some "unknown" illness without even diagnosing me really. So i called back after everything else he told me to do FAILED, "which i knew was going to" and he basically told me NOT to come back that i needed to "wait" and see what happens.. I was LIVID cuz he basically blew me off completely. So my husband tells me to call him back cuz im still in pain. I was so p***** because why would i call back someone who has done NOTHING for me except add to my problem...? So i am at a standstill since NO doctor has or will help me and im so angry, I have been to te er so many times and they havnt done much either... except give me laxatives.... They really dont care and i told my husband if I die he better sue them for not helping me so I can rest in peace.

Jenna I follow fodmap diet and halved my condition. It's hard to start with but worth it. I noticed after two weeks the difference. You have to be stricked to start off with. Look it up and give it a try. IBS varies from patient to patient and stress does not help. It's not easy I know but try not to get wound up to much.

Jenna you could be telling my story. X-rays are useless and tbh ultrasound doesn't seem to be much better imho. However unless you push really hard with the doc they are unlikely to do much else (I had to go private in order to get a consultant to authorise my CT scan and colonoscopy ). Don't accept them fobbing you off they HAVE to do more before diagnosing IBS.

Yes thats what I thought... I mean they cant just diagnose me w.o ruling other things out they are being lazy. I mean what if i have an impaction or a cyst??? Its really stressful. I cant talk to anyone other than on here cause they think im just complaining...

Hi Jenna, I seriously think you should consider colonic irrigation with a professional colon hydrotherapist... I'm sending you a PM.
