Bowel problems

Posted , 2 users are following.

Since just before Christmas 2015 I have been having gut problems. Every few days I will have a spell of several days in a row with a daily bout of diarrhoea which just pours out. It is usually quite dark in colour but subsequent stools, some hours later, are pale by comparison and normally formed. My diet is fairly consistent and I usually only drink wine one or two days a wekk at social events. My weight is not changing much and although I feel a bit bloated at times I do not have too mush trouble passing wind in public, fortunately! I wonder whether I have a problem with my bile poroduction but am wary of self diagnosis.

I hope you went to a doc?

Just to have stool checked to begin with and he/she will have further ideas of testing due to symptoms.

(A SeHCAT test could look at bile malabsorbtion as a diarrhoe reason.)

Do you have a food diary?

Just in case something is the trigger.

I have seen the doctor, am submitting two bowel samples and getting a colonoscopy. I wondered about bile, too!

      Very good!

(Yes, maybe at follow up appointment ask him/her, what he/she thinks of BAM.)

      Best of luck!

Good, so symptoms matched pretty well?

Hope you have an open minded doc (re email link).

Best of luck and to find an answer!
