Bowel Problems. Plus MRI Advice.

Hello im back been a while since i commented on the site and I'm looking for a bit of advice.
I have had bowel problems for the last 5 or 6 years it started with Diorreah,Mucusy stools and bleeding. Left it for about 4 years until I had my son so decided 2 years ago to see the doctor I did stool tests and had a rectal exam by the doctor and was told I had hemmoroids. My stool tests came back with high inflammation levels and said I had H Pylori. Took a dose of antibiotics and still felt the same no different. 2 years ago I had a colonoscopy came back perfect all the biopsies also came back perfect also had an ultrasound of the abdomen came back fine nothing sinister or suspicious.
Anyways fast forward 2 years to know I have my first check up on 2 years as I missed my last one due to work commitments and was told they wanted an MRI of my Small Bowel so my questions are.
Does anyone know what kind of illness or conditions the MRI can detect?. Also on my letter it says I will have to drink water containing a laxative is this like MoviPrep?.
Also symptoms suffering with at the moment.
Greasy foul smelling stools to hard lumpy stools in the same day.
High abdominal discomfort under my left rib cage No pain just an uncomfortable feeling.
Bloating.
Really bad flatulence.
Undeigisted food in stools ie peas, carrots, onions etc.
Pain in my lower back (not sure if related as have a tiny dent in my back lower spine area.)
Also I was going to take buscopan to try to sooth the discomfort but didn't want to risk it as my disorder is still undiagnosed would it be safe to take?.

Worst thing to do is Google Michael. Go see your Dr is my advice . When you Google it comes up with all sorts to symptoms , the more you read the stress can send you to nut house ,if you get my drift . stress will also give you your symptoms ,look at what's going on in your life , see if any things been the trigger etc . Go chat to Dr .tell him your concerns over it , be honest above all else . Let me know how you go on . Good luck Michael .

Hello marlene.
Had the MRI today and it was a breeze even the prep drink I had before the scan (which I was dreading) wasn't that bad.
Only issue I had was that I didn't get to speak to anyone the whole time I was just literally given my prep drink 30 minutes to drink it then I'm for my scan. The only person I got to speak to was the nurse who took out my cannula and when I asked her why I was having it done she didn't know just said she thinks it's because my gaestrologist wants to see where my inflammation is coming from and when I asked how long until I get my results she didn't really give a timeline.
Do you know how long roughly yours took to come back?. I know every case is different. I'm now dreading that call or letter for my appointment because if i get my results back in the next week or two immediately I'm thinking cancer (the brain is such a prick sometimes.).
Anyways was fine and thanks very much for speaking to me on here on the lead up to it was a great help.

Hiya Michael ,glad you've had it done . No one likes any procedures its that unknown factor , plus waiting on results ,they come back pretty quick ,they read it then inform your Dr , average 5/7 to 10 days . Case of that long wait Im afraid Michael ,but your on the right road to getting help ,just perservere a bit longer hey . We always think the worst , we're human built within us that stress factor ( I wish none of us had ) get back with good news ,and it will be . Try and destress as best you can ,not easy to do , but work on it . Get out walking . Go swimming if your into it , got a bicycle get out on that ,or borrow one . Your be okay ,stay hydrated and make sure you eat regularly . Tend to neglect ourselves when stressed ( been there done that ) . Hug from me

Thank you again Marlene. Your words have helped ease my mind over the last few weeks for that I am truly grateful.
I guess it can't be anything life threatening ie cancer as I ain't heard anything since my scam which was 9 days ago.

Just rang my local hospitals MRI department as the wait is doing my tits in to be told no to expect any results until mid September at the earliest as they have a huge backlog of patients to catch up with they have only just started on Junes apparently.
Shocking. I'm guessing if they suspected cancer my stool test may have showed that or indicated some signs?.
