Bowel Prolapse

I had both a bladder and bowel prolapse repair approximately 5 years ago which was a success. I have been having a few problems recently with lower back pain and a dragging sensation along with pain in the left side of my tummy. Had an appointment with my GP today to find out that my bowel has prolapsed. So i am being referred back to the hospital. Has anyone experience of a bowel prolapse for the second time and if so what was the outcome when you went to the hospital. Did you have further surgery? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you .

Ssorry to hear your issues but unfortunately these repairs don't last forever.... oh how it would be so easier fir us ladies.

I'm assuming you have led an active life since your last surgery hun?x

Thank you for the reply. Yes the original surgery all went very well. Life resumed back to normal fairly quickly and has been active ever since. Usual for us ladies I suppose, trying to cram everything into our busy life!

I am just curious as to what has happened to the mesh support that was put in place when I had the bowel surgery and if this will mean that it may have to be removed before any second surgery to repair the bowel can be done.
